CHACMOOL, circa 900-1200 A.D. was introduced
to the Maya area when the Toltecs invaded and settled in the Yucatan in
the 10th century. The integration of the Toltec/Maya cultures is
magnificently expressed in the art and architecture of Chichen Itza,
where the Chacmool plays a dominant role. |
